The Spot
A post-mortem on community management for one of the biggest art and design related discord communities
The Spot was founded in 2018 by Alex, Elina, Riley, and I. We’ve been running an online community to introduce and teach art and design to younger folks. We organized events, podcasts, educational courses, tutorials, and competitions.
We also became the official community for the main Design Reddit community.
In 2020 we ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund our dedicated website.
